Subversion, Violet and Complete Eradication

Agent: SD007
Code name: Violet
Mission: Complete Eradication
Protocol: Subversive tactics

Subversion was the only way. Violet remembered with such clarity attempting to reason with them. Communication was hopeless. She would wait until dark when the residents were in their houses for the night. By morning it would be over and they wouldn’t know what hit them.

As the hours passed Violet watched each house go dark one by one. It was time. She submerged herself in the water bringing the heavy device with her. Taking a deep breath she went down into the depths seating it at the deepest part. Feeling like her lungs would burst; she pushed herself back to the surface and clung to the side. It was in and ready.

Cautiously Violet laid the tube to its length. Panic hit when she realized it wasn’t long enough! She had under-estimated the distance of the target. She took a deep breath. She could easily do this even in the pitch blackness! She just needed to think quickly.

She snuck back to base camp and gathered 100ft more tubing, 2 couplings, then jammed the length of tubing together. Pulling the tubing behind her, she went over the crest of the hill looking for the primary marker.

At the base of the hill the sound of a door opening pierced the dead quiet. One of the residents had heard her! She ducked behind a car. He turned on his porch light and stared out into the darkness. She set frozen afraid to even breathe. He looked in all directions, then turned and went back into his house. He hadn’t seen her.

The tube was ready and directed. She scrambled back to base camp. Complete Eradication was a go!

She set by the controls and counted the beats of her heart. Slowly she flipped the switch and listened to device come to life. It blasted through the tube into the street and down the hill, settling to a steady stream.

She watched for the any signs of life. The brief disturbance hadn’t woken them. It was done and nothing but quiet remained. Success! It had begun.

And in the morning- her pool was drained, the street was dry and her cranky neighbors were none the wiser.

I love the lights and dark of your violet and I could just see you slipping around getting your pool ready without pissing off your neighbors! I wish I could sit by your pool and talk over margaritas!

Hi Odd Chick,
Thanks. This was really a difficult little painting to photograph. My backgound is layers of glazed under colors and you can't see them with a web-sized jpg.

And I wish you could sit by by pool and drink margaritss with me also.

Hi Sandy,
Thanks so much! (I just grabbed the jpg.) BTW- are you aware that we have 'photographers' now becoming members of the Artist Challenge?

We had gotten notes- "Hey we're artists tooooo!" And, Sweetpea,-
you exemplify that photography is definitely a beautiful art form.

Photo art is welcome in our galleries ANY day of the week.

Hi Sandy,
Thanks so much. I've been lacks at visiting my blog roll of recent. That's why I don't have more visitors. Can't expect people to visit - if I don't visit them. But thank you so much for the plug.

- Busy with the Challenge and my silly pool adventure, you know. (My pool is a sparkling like crazy! Yeah!)

My Mom had a pool years back. And my friend had scuba gear. I used to borrow his tank and lay down on the bottom of the pool while vacuuming the pool. Because that was SO much better a way to do it.

redchair said...

Hi Lou,
Hummmm? Can't figure out how'd you do that? It seems it would be the equivalent of trying to vacumn your rug laying down.

Although during the summer when it's warm I do frequently jump in the pool with the vacumn and stand and go at it. No reason or advantage other than I like to. So I guess we're speaking the same thing. LOL

Hi June,
The Challenge has been great fun and we're doing fine. BTW-I just sold the rights to one of my paintings, Ezekiel's Vision, for a book cover recently. I have an affinity for authors and good literature, you know?

Hi again Vikki - just noticed your reply to my earlier comment. Well done you! I haven't got too far yet with marketing 'Paternity'. The moon has to align with Neptune or something ...

Life gets in the way, but perhaps when my bio-rythms are right.

I know you're very busy being a wanton wench in a pub, but I thought you might like to join in a little fun over at 70 Plus and Still Kicking. I posted some trifles I did in the Paint programme and people wanted to have a go themselves.

I have begun receiving efforts of blogging mates which I'll 'hang' as part of my next post, alongside artists' links.

Now I know you may feel above this. However I have said stick figures are welcome, but that Rembrandts are too.

Five minutes of effort and your fame could shoot even to higher levels. A challenge to you my dear.

Cheers

Hi June-
Will check out your blog and see what mischief your up to now. You know I can’t resist a challenge!

And your right. I have been ‘too’ busy and it’s beginning to effect my life. It may be time to get a helper wench or sailor in the Pub.

I’ve always felt a painting is just a different form of story telling. In fact, I really think that within every painting- there is a story just waiting to be told.

Hi Mari,
Thanks and welcome to my blog. ( I'll check out your blog also.)
I’ve been having a lot of fun writing these spoofs for my paintings.

And I do love Sandy. She's one of my favorite bloggers.

Little Mama!
I used to do stuff just like this to avoid confrontations with my neighbors in various cities I've lived in! But no longer!

As I've grown to a Crone, I simply do as I wish and just growl, talk in 'tongues' and flutter my skirts their way. They leave me alone and I haven't heard a complaint in years since the Fire Department, Sheriff's Department helicopter and the Fish and Feathers Department sat in their boat out back in the canal watching the proceedings in my yard.

The one hundred and thirty something women of every age from 8 months old to 96 in every shape, size and color dressed in exotic kaftans, sarongs, and djellaba were belly dancing, drinking and eating, poetry reading, singing Mozart a capella, leaping over the May bonfires (there were three), singing rock songs along with the all-girl rock band. Candles and fairy lights were in the trees, lanterns lit the path to the two-seater out house that was a hit of the Hafla.

I still get asked when I'm ever going to have another one from as far away as Turkey. That was in 1996. The neighbors have been really quiet since then.

Love,
Queenie

Hi Queenie,
You're right and I certainly thought about it. It's within my rights as a homeowner, but draining the pool at night is actually fine with me. It's was empty in the morning. I got it cleaned and refilled by nightfall. It's no big deal and then they have no basis for complaint.

I'm sure you know my stories are fictious. It just occurred to me Agent SD007 might make a fun blog.

Hi Manuela,
Thanks. I'm down to one per week with the de,amds involved with the challenge this month. And I've had little time to visit other people's sites. Makes me feel bad.

I'll fix that (for sure) this month.
