Happy Mother's Day and A Pain in the You Know What?

Dear Mom,
Just a note to tell you things are going great. My work is selling and the Challenge site has taken off like wildfire. I’ve met a lot of really nice people. Capt. Mike and I are having great fun with the whole thing.
(My Mom- 1987>
And yessss… I’m eating well, getting rest and taking those horse sized ‘calcium pills’ you like.

I put this little painting at the top of this blog, because I know it’s the sort of traditional thing you’d like for your kitchen. I might add it would certainly be more appropriate than the little piggy picture you put beside the frig for Kerry's notice. Your subliminal message wasn’t that subliminal, Mother. You might have thought it funny (I admit I did also when you told me about it) but it just made Kerry mad. The way I look at it: She doesn't have the same metabolism as you and I and she's got her own kind of pretty. Actually, I think that attitude would have made it easier on all of us, if you get my drift.

(My sister Kerry in stripes- me on the left)

And Mother! Uncle Troy’s new wife is not a husband stealer! Carlene had been dead for a decade and when he started up with her. I honestly don’t think you’d like anyone that dated your brother, who by the way, ‘does not walk on water.’

You’re so funny. I still laugh remembering your antics. I wish I could just get a cup of coffee and call you for one of our long chats. We figured out all the answers to life together. There’s so much we need to catch up on, but that will have to wait.

Please give Moezy a hug and tell Daddy I miss him. I miss you too, Momma, and love you very much. Thank for being a great Mom and loving me so dearly.

Happy Mother’s Day, Momma

Nice stuff Vikki. Your Mom was far too young to die ... that's just not on!
Enjoy your memories on Sunday ...

Hi June,
I so agree. She was way way way to young. We had such a close relationship I really do feel she's still with me sometimes. I can hear her fuzzing at me as I go through my days. It comforts me. She was a treasure.

Oh Vikki, what a beautiful letter. I tried to upload my Mom's pict on the Challenge, but somehow it didn't work.
Sooooo, I went to my blog and so far have written to both my Grandmother's. I will still get one for Mama before Sunday.
Thank you so much for giving me the idea from the Challenge.
You are so so dear to so many Vikki, your Mother's more proud than you can know!

Hi Beckie,
Thanks sweetgirl. And I'm sure your Mom and grandmother will appreciate you letters. I'll go check out your blog.

And I'll send an email with the 'how to' load a picture in the Pub. It was confusing to me at first also.

Hi Lou,
Thank you.
She was a beauty and she was also an amazingly talented musician and a really good person and friend.

Wow great painting but loved the message to your mom. My mom died 1985, these moms were too young!

Love the post.

Hi Sandy,
Thanks. Someone said I always speak of my Mother as if she had no faults- thus the stimulus for this blog. Nope. I well remember what a pain in the you know what she could be. (We all can be) I just don't focus on it.
I loved her and miss her so much.

And yep- way to young to leave us.

I forgot to thank you for sharing a bit of your family pictures with us. I love looking at friends' pictures. I think that, me, seeing photos of my blog friends make them more real and personal friends rather than just virtual friends. Don't you agree? All of you are beautiful people.

Does your sister live in the same area as you? My sister live in the same area, and so we get together quite a bit, which is really nice.

Thanks again,
Tasha

Hi Tashabud,
I agree. I love seeing photos of online buddies.

No my sister lives in the South so we don't see each other. When Mom and Dad died we seemed to go our seperate ways.

Hi Vikki,
It's good to see your turnip painting again. I know you don't like turnips, but I love them. My mouth is watering just thinking about the taste of turnips with some salt and vinegar. Yummy.

Your letter to your mother made me think of my own mother. I chuckled at how you went about in writing it. Very comical, but very good.

Happy Mother's Day to you.
