Abandon all hope ye who enter here....

"Abandon all hope ye who enter here. Pull up a chair and be of good cheer. The artist awaits you.....Hello Fair Spirit of The Blog,
Alas you’ve come. We’ve been waiting for you. Oh, don’t bump your head on the door! Blood makes such an awful mess.

You are formally invited to join our very Private Artist Club. No. Not every sod is welcome. We’re very discriminating and only an privileged few will walk our hallowed grounds. But, Master Mike and I have decided …we want you.

We have a dandy place just for rascals like you. It’s rightfully called Dante’s Pub. But when you enter beware. You are entering the abyss of the artist mind and you may not find your way out.

You are welcome to watch from afar, sip on a glass of absinth, or pull up a chair and join us for a little chat. We’re a very friendly crowd.

But Be Warned: Blasphemers and Scalawags shall be lashed and burned at the stake! So watch your tongue, Sailor, or that may be removed also -just for fun.

Oh, you ask, ‘What’s in it for you?” You’ll just have to wait and see… now wont you?

Don’t dilly dally. It won’t cost you pence. Check out The Artist Challenge and Dante‘s Pub… that is if you fathom yourself worthy to be amongst the souls we've already claimed?

Be sure and register at the Pub and then log in. After all- this is a very private club. We don’t want just any wanderer in our midst, ...now do we?

Farewell ….until we hear from you……..

Oh, how I like this sensous, sexy, and romantic illustration of the duo. I smiled at the caricatures. Love it. Love it. Love it.

I also like the narrative to go with it. So befitting to your drawing.

Ahoy Master Mike,

With ale and laughter the pub is set.
Artist and fools, great follie me bet.

Treasure for the taking,
And love forsaking,

Tis only for you,
That I shall be true

Except when your off to sea,
Then unfaithful I will surely be,

For a lass like me,
Has many needs, you see?

Hi Tashabud,
I’m so excited that you joined. It’s going to be fun!

These are the type of characters that come out of my brain at the wee hours of night when I’m exhausted and need to get a new blog out. Kind of scarey, huh?

But they made me laugh and so I thought them appropriate.

Hi Vikki
Loving the pub and the challenge. Just what we all crave - a little stimulation followed by gentle relaxation with stimulating friends.

MIKE
Now you know how my fictional character Pip felt when she became the target for the tip of Vikki's (sorry Wench's) charcoal! It's a chastening experience I'm sure.
I enjoy her self portrait as well. She certainly has an edge! Perfect for Dante's.

Hi June,
HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!

I'm sure if he could- Master Mike would set off a 30-gun salute just for da Aussie on dis very special day!

Instead we send our wishes for lots of good food, lots of fun and celebration and an abundance of smiles and laughter to our friends down under.

Ohh I love the sense of fun and frivolity in the drawing. As a lost but claimed soul, I'm looking forward to the fun and antics that are sure to abound.

I have me mug of grog, parrot perched on the shoulder, and a hollow carved in me peg leg for gems and treasure I find or thieve. I'll be joining ye of the abyss, O master of mid evil and pirate souls. Off to visit the pub wench in search of inspiration.... certainly not redemption.

LOL.

Eric of the Mountain,

I beseech you as a patron saint of my heart.

...and I'm going to save this comment sir and see if not for placement in my heart it may find a home in the Art Challenge site.

When I last visited your site, I immediately went to the pub to get a warm beer and a banger. I forgot to mention that the characters depicted in your quick charcoal drawing were friends of mine during the late 60's and early 70's.

Ahoy Logistician,
We are glad to be of service.

It seems we moved in the same crowd. Interesting......?

You write as well as you paint! How do you come up with this stuff? Your mind must never rest.

Hi Peggi and Thanks,
I think I was the Pub Wench in a previous life. It comes pretty easy, if you get my drift. LOL>

Well, now, if the invitation wasn't already inviting enough, the drawing pulls you in! The faces are filled with all sorts of stories, just waiting to speak!

redchair said...

Thanks Aleta,
Isn't Master Mike just the guy you'd like to meet in a dark alley?

I was SO tired when I did them but they really made me laugh.

Hy PUB wench - I loved your very clever drawing and it seemed weirdly coincidental that I had ran across that quote from Dante in a book about Heaven that my Bible study group is studying. thank you for the invitation - i don't think I'm ready- but I'm working on it!!

redchair said...

Hi Odd Chick,
I understand- no worries, but I hope you consider at least being part of the forum and getting to know some of the artist. There's a lot of outstanding artistand craftsman on board whom we can all learn from.

LOL

Devilish glint in my eye, skewed smile stretched from ear to ear. I sweep my feathered hat from my head with debonair flair, bowing gracefully... I dauntlessly accept your praise.

redchair said...

Ooooooh Mountain Pirate-

Your smile burns a picture I long to see,

Fear I vain to give my heart to thee,

.. Forsaking Master Mike with thoughtless glee?

Upon his knowledge, we can surely agree,

at the bottom of the ocean we both would be.
