CBS Sunday Morning Television Show is a staple of society and loved by millions. It is an intellectual ‘slice of Americana’ encapsulating current events, politics, nature and everyday people.How exciting was that ‘three seconds’ of national art exposure? Thank you so much for all your emails and making it so much fun for me.
I awoke to emails before the segment even aired on the West Coast. I didn’t even know which of my paintings they had used and none of you Easterners told me! (Not a clue.) Reginald even wrote how he liked “the _____ and the _____ in the painting.” I laughed so hard. And Chris, you are just a party to anyone’s joy.
It just goes to show -it’s these very silly moments that make it all worthwhile.
This is my painting that aired this weekend (7/13/08) on CBS Sunday Morning. Its name has been changed to Abruzzi and (by the way) another ‘1’ added to its price tag. It's 16"x20", acrylic on unstretched canvas panel.
Thanks again for getting up early and watching my 3 seconds on this ‘Sunday Morning.’

Good, if I had been picking art, this is the one I would have choosen too. funny, eh? I just got your email this morning, so I missed it, but I am sure it rocked.
You know, I was just thinking about the "impact" of three seconds as opposed to a much longer period of time. The brevity of the time, particularly because of the anticipation built up, made its impact more immediate and "dart-like," especially not knowing which one would be featured. I'd have to say that this was an example of "quality time" as opposed to "quantity time."

CBS Sunday Morning has been one of my favorite shows since I can remember. I’ve always loved their emphasis on art. I contacted them and asked if I could send images for possible use at the end of their segments. They were delighted and added them to their collection of sun logos.
I didn’t know if they would ever actually go to air. They contacted me on Saturday to tell me they were using one that Sunday. They also told me they were sending me a tape of the show.
They did such a nice job with it, Dina. It was the close of a beautiful segment on Abruzzi, Italy. It made me very happy.

And thanks for your comments. CBS Sunday Morning is a weekend television show that’s been running for 20+ years here in the States. It’s an American classic. That’s why it was so exciting. When I did the painting I created a design that I hoped might be applicable to one of their segments. It was really a nice surprise.
